What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Version 1.0 · Last updated 9/4/2026
This policy explains what personal information Raydin collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it.
It covers this website and your Raydin membership. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal shorthand, because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody.
Raydin is the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are responsible for looking after it.
Raydin is a roadside membership provider operating in the United Kingdom.
For anything about your personal information, email info@joinraydin.com or call 07700 171252.
When you contact us through the website, we collect your name, email address, vehicle registration if you give it, the subject you select and whatever you write in your message.
When you take out a membership, we also collect your postal address, telephone number, and details of the vehicle being covered.
When you call for assistance we record what has happened, where you are, and what was done about it. Your location is collected so that we can send help to the right place.
We keep a record of your membership dates, payments, claims history and your rollover position, because all of those are needed to work out what you are owed at renewal.
Payments are handled by our payment provider. Raydin does not store your full card number.
Like most websites, our hosting collects basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you look at and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for everything we do with your information. Here is ours, purpose by purpose.
To set up your membership, confirm it, send you the terms and manage your account. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
To locate you, dispatch a recovery operator, and keep a record of what was done. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. Where somebody is in danger at the roadside, we may also rely on vital interests.
To collect your membership fee and to work out the rollover credit applied at renewal. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
To reply to messages sent through the contact form or by email. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — namely responding to people who have asked us something.
To meet our accounting, tax and other legal obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
To protect the website and detect misuse of memberships. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — running a service that is not abused.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have asked us to, and every one will have an unsubscribe link. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your information to make any automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
We share your information only where it is needed, and only with:
Everyone we share information with is required to keep it secure and to use it only for the purpose we gave it to them for. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we never will.
We keep information for as long as we need it, and no longer.
When a retention period ends we delete the information, or anonymise it so that it can no longer be linked to you.
Your information is stored on servers operated by our website host and our other suppliers.
This website currently loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser contacts Google’s servers when a page loads, and your IP address is disclosed to Google in the United States as part of that request.
If you would rather that did not happen, the fonts can be served from our own website instead, which removes the connection to Google entirely.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information: the website is served over an encrypted connection, access to membership records is limited to people who need it to do their job, and our suppliers are chosen partly on their security arrangements.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is completely safe. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will report it to the Information Commissioner’s Office within 72 hours and tell you directly where the law requires it.
Under UK data protection law you have the following rights, free of charge:
To exercise any of these, email info@joinraydin.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else.
We will respond within one month. If your request is unusually complex we may extend that by a further two months, and we will tell you if that happens and why.
Some rights are not absolute. For example, we may not be able to delete records we are legally required to keep for accounting purposes. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will explain why.
This website uses cookies. What they are, which ones we set and how to control them is set out in our cookie policy.
Raydin membership is for adults. You must be at least 18 to take out a membership, and this website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anybody under 18. If you believe we have, please tell us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change supplier or add a new part of the service.
The version shown here is always the current one, and the date it was last updated is at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first at info@joinraydin.com. We would rather have the chance to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection:
Complaining to us first does not affect your right to complain to the ICO at any time.
If you want to know what we hold about you, or you want it corrected or deleted, just say so and we will sort it out.
